A special knitted fabric stole made from hand-dyed Japanese paper thread in Fukui
Share
We would like to introduce you to "Washinden", a stole made from special knitted fabric from Fukui Prefecture.
A light and refreshing stole made by hand-dying and knitting with thread made from washi paper. It is also perfect for UV protection.
Using a special weft insertion warp knitting machine, the weft is made by cutting and twisting Japanese paper, and the warp is made of cupra, a yarn made from cotton.
The combination of washi paper and cupro in a golden ratio of 6:4 creates a unique texture that combines the moderate tension of washi with the suppleness of cupro.
Another feature is that it is easy to handle.
You can wash it with water at home.
Each item is hand-dyed in a 200-year-old dyeing workshop in Fukui.
